Hearth and Hamlet Enemies List: All 12 Enemy Types
Hearth and Hamlet enemies list with all 12 enemy stats: Skeleton, Rat, Goblin, Orc, and more. See attack, defence, speed, and difficulty values.
Hearth and Hamlet has 12 enemy types, and every one of them is defined by the same five numbers: attack, defence, attack speed, travel speed, and a difficulty rating. Only the Goblin is enabled in build 0.80, the Ashenholt Soldier sits in embedded later-game data, and the other ten carry a “runtime varies” label, which means the catalogue records their stats but does not claim exactly when they appear during play.
The short answer
- 12 enemy types exist in the build 0.80 data
- The Goblin is the only build-enabled enemy; it drives the first guardhouse quest
- The Ashenholt Soldier is embedded later-game data tied to a tribute event
- The other ten enemies are marked “runtime varies” — their appearance is not yet confirmed
- Every stat below is static build 0.80 data, not a final full-game number
All 12 enemies in Hearth and Hamlet
The table below is the complete enemy catalogue from build 0.80 (Steam build 23713558), sorted by difficulty. Attack and defence are raw stats, attack speed and travel speed are multipliers, and difficulty is a rough threat rating.

| Skeleton | 2 | 5 | 1 | 1.5 | 10 | Runtime varies |
| Rat | 3 | 3 | 2 | 2.8 | 12 | Runtime varies |
| Ancient Skeleton | 3 | 10 | 1 | 1.2 | 15 | Runtime varies |
| Plague Mosquito | 4 | 2 | 3 | 2.9 | 15 | Runtime varies |
| Zombie | 4 | 8 | 1 | 1.4 | 18 | Runtime varies |
| Goblin | 5 | 4 | 2 | 2.2 | 20 | Build enabled |
| Giant Bat | 5 | 4 | 1 | 2.6 | 22 | Runtime varies |
| Sinister Eye | 6 | 6 | 1 | 2.5 | 25 | Runtime varies |

Enemy availability explained
Three labels separate these profiles, and the difference matters for planning. “Build enabled” means the enemy is turned on by build 0.80’s availability data — only the Goblin qualifies. “Later-game data” means the entry is embedded in the package but is not claimed as enabled there or final at release; the Ashenholt Soldier is the only one in this group. “Runtime varies” covers the other ten, whose records are complete in static data but whose actual appearance during play the catalogue does not assert.
The demo itself shows a narrower slice of this list. Demo footage runs through goblins as the opening raid, then encounters rats, skeletons, orcs, and shambling plants later in the run, plus an Ashenholt soldier tribute event. That is a demo observation, not proof of the final spawn order.
The Goblin and the first raid
The Goblin (5 attack, 4 defence, difficulty 20) is the enemy behind the demo’s first military quest, “Build a Guardhouse and Train 5 Guards.” It resolves through the battle system rather than a scripted scene, so the fight plays out with your soldiers against the incoming group. Because it is the only build-enabled profile, the Goblin is the enemy you should expect to meet first on any early run.
The Ashenholt Soldier and the tribute event
The Ashenholt Soldier is the highest-defence enemy in the catalogue aside from the Orc, with 12 attack, 15 defence, and a difficulty of 45. It is embedded later-game data, and in the demo it appears as part of the Ashenholt tribute event — soldiers from the kingdom’s old home arrive demanding gold and ongoing taxes — rather than as an ordinary raid. That framing suggests it is a story-tied threat, though its final role is to be confirmed.
Early threats
The low end of the ladder reads like a dungeon floor. The Skeleton (2 attack, 5 defence, difficulty 10) is the weakest entry, followed by the Rat (3 attack, 3 defence, 12), the Ancient Skeleton (3 attack, 10 defence, 15), and the Plague Mosquito (4 attack, 2 defence, 15). The Plague Mosquito is the fastest attacker in the list at attack speed 3, with the Rat and the Goblin following at 2, so these early profiles trade raw power for rate.
Two outliers sit just above them. The Zombie (4 attack, 8 defence, 18) is a sturdier early bruiser, and the Giant Bat (5 attack, 4 defence, 22) shares the Goblin’s attack and defence with a higher difficulty but no confirmed availability. The Sinister Eye (6 attack, 6 defence, 25) rounds out the mid-low band with balanced numbers and a slow travel speed of 2.5.
Mid and late threats
The tougher profiles tilt toward defence and crowd control. The Monstrous Mushroom (8 attack, 9 defence, 28) and the Shambling Plant (7 attack, 12 defence, 30) are both slow movers — travel speeds of 1.3 and 1.1 respectively — but hit hard once they arrive. The Shambling Plant is the slowest enemy in the game, which fits its role as a rooted ambusher.
At the top, the Orc is the strongest profile on the list by difficulty (50) and defence (20), with 10 attack and a travel speed of 2.0. It out-scores every other enemy on durability, so an Orc raid is a stress test for your soldier count and wall tiers rather than a skirmish.
How to read enemy stats
Attack and defence are the two numbers your soldiers trade against, with defence representing how much punishment an enemy can absorb. Attack speed is a rate — the Plague Mosquito’s 3 means it strikes three times in the window a Skeleton strikes once. Travel speed sets the pace of the approach, which is why the warning timer matters as much as the fight itself. Difficulty is a shorthand threat rating that lets you compare profiles at a glance. The exact formula that combines these values in battle is not published, so treat the numbers as relative rather than absolute; see mechanics for what is known about combat.
The video above is a full demo first look that runs through the goblin raid, rat hordes, skeletons, orcs, shambling plants, and the Ashenholt tribute event in sequence.
Demo v1.0.46 vs build 0.80 data
Enemy values come with the same caveat as every other mined system. Demo v1.0.46 rebalanced combat for Steam Next Fest, so early demo numbers may already differ from what you see now. Build 0.80 is newer static data that defines all 12 profiles but only enables the Goblin. Until current release data is verified, read every stat as a reference that can change.
