Hearth and Hamlet Languages: All 7 Options Explained

Hearth and Hamlet languages: English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, German, Japanese, Russian and Korean with interface, full audio and subtitles.

2026/8/16 最終更新: 2026/8/16 English fallback

Hearth and Hamlet supports seven languages at launch: English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, German, Japanese, Russian and Korean. The Steam store lists interface, full audio and subtitles support for all seven.

The short answer

  • Supported languages: 7 total
  • Coverage: Interface, full audio and subtitles listed for each
  • Newest additions: Traditional Chinese and Korean (Demo v1.0.46)
  • Voice extent: Store-listed; full voice coverage to be confirmed
  • Chinese titles: 放置领主:财富之城 (Simplified) / 放置領主:財富之城 (Traditional)

All Hearth and Hamlet languages

The Steam store page currently lists “English and 6 more,” for seven total. Every language entry has all three boxes — Interface, Full Audio and Subtitles — checked.

Simplified Chinese, German, Japanese and Russian were already part of the store listing before June, and the v1.0.46 patch notes only mention adding Traditional Chinese and Korean. In other words, the five-language list grew to seven in a single update.

Demo vs full release language support

The demo’s latest build (v1.0.46, released June 15) matches the store’s current seven-language list, since that is the build where Traditional Chinese and Korean arrived. The full release on August 19, 2026 inherits the same seven-language list, per the current store metadata.

Two caveats are worth noting. First, store metadata can change before launch — if the developer trims or expands the list, we will update this page. Second, the demo and the full release are separate listings on Steam (apps 4564480 and 4315040), and no one has promised identical language support between them. Treat the current seven as the launch expectation, not a locked contract. To be confirmed.

Which languages are new in v1.0.46?

The Steam Next Fest patch notes include a Localization section that reads: “Added support for Traditional Chinese and Korean.” That was the first appearance of both languages, roughly two months before the full release.

So if you are a Traditional Chinese or Korean speaker, the demo’s latest build is the first version you could try in your own language. That makes v1.0.46 the best way to test your language before committing to a purchase.

Localized Steam titles

Hearth and Hamlet carries localized titles on Steam in several regions:

  • Simplified Chinese: 放置领主:财富之城
  • Traditional Chinese: 放置領主:財富之城
  • Japanese: 小さな領地の繫盛記
  • Korean: 영주님은 방치중: 중세 도시 키우기

Third-party listing sites sometimes add their own language notes — for example, one Chinese aggregator lists the game as supporting Chinese, English and Japanese. The same page even shows a release date of April 22, 2026, which contradicts the official August 19 launch, so its data should be treated with caution. The official Steam store list of seven languages is the authoritative source.

Which languages are missing?

For completeness, the current list does not include several common languages: Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Turkish and others are absent from the store’s seven-language table. Neither the demo patch notes nor any announcement mention plans to add more languages, so anything beyond the seven is to be confirmed.

If you play in a language that is not listed, the practical options are English (which has the most complete coverage) or waiting for a future announcement. The Steam store would be the first place a new language would appear — the Traditional Chinese and Korean additions in June were reflected in the store listing right away.

Does “full audio” mean fully voiced?

The Steam metadata checks Full Audio for all seven languages, but that should be read as the current store listing, not proof that every line of dialogue is voiced in every language. The store does not explain the extent of audio localisation, so the exact voice coverage per language is to be confirmed.

For a game of Hearth and Hamlet’s scope — a cozy citybuilder built around research, policies and trading — “full audio” may cover a smaller set of spoken lines than a narrative RPG would. Until the developer publishes details, treat each language’s voice coverage as to be confirmed.

How to change the language

The demo patch notes do not describe a language-switch menu, and no official documentation covers it yet, so the exact in-game steps are to be confirmed. As with most Steam games, you can also right-click the game in your Steam library, open Properties and pick a language there — but for Hearth and Hamlet specifically, that flow is unverified until the full release ships.

What we do know: the v1.0.46 update added a full UI scaling menu with automatic and manual modes, so the Options screen is actively expanding. A language selector may well live there at launch, but that is an inference, not a fact. To be confirmed.
